Why has Pope Benedict repeatedly refused to debate Dr Richard Dawkins ?

Richard Dawkins is not that important nor a very good debator, and the Pope does not make a habit of debating as an event. The Pope does however write books and make many statements regarding the truth and the position of the truth which can be read and reviewed.
