Are you atheists friends with Dawkins?

We're lucky enough today to live in a fairly secular world. While there are still pockets of fundamentalism (especially in the developing world), even the Vatican has relaxed a great deal on its stance against the humanities and sciences. Because of this, it's easy for secular humanists, atheists, or whatever you want to call us, to become complacent and adopt a live-and-let-live attitude. There is, however, a pendulum effect in all politics, and the swing seems to have become nearly global in its scope (perhaps thanks to the media and Internet.) That swing is definitely going to the right, and has been since the late 1970's. If it goes far enough, people like Dawkins, who "bring their own dogma" may be at the forefront of the resistance as we once again see witch trials and public burnings. I don't know that I would consider Dawkins or Hitchens to be my friends, but I do consider them to be heroes, and I admire them a great deal even when I disagree with them.
