Christians and Atheists: Have you ever read a book from "the other side"?

I've read several, including the entire Left Behind series, of which I loved the first six books. I heard they released another that takes place after the Glorious appearing, but I also heard that the story was nonexistant and the writing was below par, even for Jerry and Tim.
