If atheists like Richard Dawkins had their way, would Christmas and Thanksgiving be banned?

First, show me where and when Dawkins made this ridiculous statement. Thanksgiving is a secular holiday in the U.S. Dawkins is a Brit and wouldn't give a damn about it. Holidays aren't strictly indoctrination, they're just celebrations. The level of indoctrination is up to the celebrants.
