Christians, what's the connection between pride and foolishness?

Well, I'm not a Christian, but speaking from experience, I've found nothing brings on a humbling twist of fate faster than bragging about something. Pride makes you do foolish things, gives you more confidence than is usually justified. And if you're proud, it usually doesn't take long before someone comes along whose is better at whatever you're proud of being able to do -- which leaves you feeling foolish sometimes. Nothing wrong with acknowledging a job well done, but staying humble is a good preventative against having to apologize later.
